Miracles happen when our volunteers partner with Habitat and future homeowners to build affordable housing. Come be a part of this great experience. We are currently building in Boulder, on the southwest corner of Jay Road and 47th Street. We have several opportunities for your involvement on the construction site (see below). Volunteers commit a full day's work from 8:00 am to 4:00pm. The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old.

Individual Volunteers – Learn new skills! Get outside! Meet new people! Come build with us!
We generally have one Friday and one Saturday per month for individuals to volunteer on our construction site. No experience is necessary and all necessary tools are provided. We ask all volunteers to commit to a full work day from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. Please register and sign yourself up for available construction days by visiting VolunteerUp. Individual Volunteer days are indicated on our calendar with "Sign Up." Not seeing as many opportunities as you would like to volunteer? Help us apply your enthusiasm and that of our wonderfully supportive community by becoming a Crew Leader. See Crew Leader description below.
Crew Leaders– If you would like to enjoy the experience of building with our crew and transforming lives on a regular basis, this could be the job for you. As one of our Crew Leaders said: “No experience is necessary for this experience of a life time.” Our crew leaders don their tool belts once or twice a month and help us keep our site in order. We provide all the training. Crew Leaders provide enthusiasm, natural leadership skills and the ability for us to accommodate more volunteers. They welcome volunteers, help first timers find the tools they need, lead small groups on construction projects and assist in maintaining the safe and enjoyable constructions we all love. If you are interested in becoming a crew leader please see the job description and contact our Crew Leader Coordinator, Kristine Thompson, at 303.447.3787 ext. 233 or kthompson@flatironshabitat.org.
The Wednesday Crew – Since 1994, a faithful group of volunteers have put their indelible stamp on Wednesday and on the lives of thousands of Boulder County residents. They come from all walks of life wielding hammers for Habitat, Wednesday after Wednesday. On the site the Wednesday crew can be easily spotted in their worn Flatirons Habitat t-shirts and caps working alongside partner families and other volunteers. Their clothing shows “the wear and tear” of repeated painting, caulking, and other building activities. Their shoes are real clodhoppers and their hairdo includes a hardhat. What gives them away, however, is their smile—it radiates their compassion and joy. Our Wednesday Crew is currently full, if you have an interest in volunteering on a regular basis please consider becoming a Crew Leader (see above).
Team Builds – Team build days are an excellent way to enhance your team’s cohesiveness and collaboration skills while transforming lives in your community. Flatirons Habitat for Humanity offers team builds that accommodate 10-15 people for a day of building on one of our homes. We provide all the training, tools, and lunch. We ask your organization to contribute $2500, which allows us to acquire the construction materials required for your day of building. Please note we schedule groups at least 90 days in advance. Our team build and sponsoring groups are given scheduling priority as it is those who provide both financial support and volunteer time that allow us to build affordable homes. To schedule your organization’s day please contact Erin Teague at 303-447-3787 ext.225 or eteague@flatironshabitat.org
